Laila Abed, a member of the PERIOD Inc. Youth Advisory Council, is collaborating with Malikah, a renowned anti-violence organization in honor of International Day of the Girl Child & PERIOD Action Day. Together, they are planning to distribute 200 period packs containing menstrual pads to the Arab and Muslim community members in Queens, NY.

This event aims to foster a sense of sisterhood and encourage community involvement, welcoming not only menstruators but also non-menstruators to engage in meaningful conversations about menstrual health and equity. Participants are invited to learn more about Period Action Day and Malikah's initiatives, get involved through donations, or simply pick up a period pack and other informational materials. Additional goodies may be available!

We will be hosting a menstrual product drive for our local women and children's rescue center. We will also be providing education on periods and period poverty. No need to RSVP - open invite!

We will have a MenstruAction booth at the United Nations Day 2024 with the aim to inform about the importance of Menstrual Health and Hygiene via a quizz and other activities - on 12th October, 10am - 5pm. For more information visit the website here.

Youth On Their Own will be providing basic needs items (including period products) at our Mini Mall to youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County. We will be bundling supplies into kits for the Mini Mall.

Period Education Project is hosting a menstrual health workshop, called a "PEP Rally", hosted by our amazing medical students at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine. PEP Rallies are physician-created, medically-accurate workshops for young people in middle/high school that cover all the basics of menstrual health, from anatomy to phases of the menstrual cycle to period product options and safe way to use them to abnormal vs. normal menstrual patterns and more. PEP Rallies are led by trained medical students from schools all across the country.

The mission is two-fold, close knowledge gaps and de-stigmatize the topics of periods with trusted menstrual health education while giving medical students the opportunity to navigate these important conversations, serve their communities and become better future doctors.

We are planning an educational session on menstrual health awareness for students in grades 8, 9, and 10 at a school in Shivane, Pune, India. The session will engage over 100 students, aiming to provide essential information on menstruation, dispel common myths, and promote open, informed discussions about menstrual health. 10 am - 11 am IST.

September 1st - Period Action Day: hosting a Houston and Greater-Houston wide menstrual product drive in collaboration with Janes Special Packs. On Period Action day, we are hosting a Houston wide packing party along with a workshop on menstrual equity!

Join PERIOD. at Augusta University for a PERIOD packing party! Augusta community members, medical students, dental students, undergraduate students and faculty from Augusta University are invited to come help us pack period products for the community!

To support the elimination of the tampon tax in Georgia and prepare advocates for talking about menstrual equity in public, we are hosting a Candid Conversation (train the trainer) session. This will be an in-person event in which attendees will learn how to facilitate conversations about experiences with menstruation, and important advocacy tools they can use to advance varied policy levers!
